Gilbert & Sullivan's first global smash hit, this version of HMS Pinafore is being brought to America by the United Kingdom's famous professional company, Opera della Luna.
Performed entirely by a cast of 10 (Yes, you might see a sister, cousin or aunt with a bad case of five o'clock shadow), Opera della Luna's innovative approach to this Gilbert & Sullivan standard should not be missed.
British naval sailor, Ralph Rakestraw, is in love with the captain's daughter - certainly a lofty ideal for a lowly sailor. Unfortunately, the beautiful Josephine is betrothed to the First Lord of the Admiralty of the Queen's navy who is arriving shortly to collect his bride accompanied by an entourage of sisters, cousins and aunts.
See how a mistaken baby swap saves the day. It's topsy turvey at its best.
